Improvised Experimental Music

TONERO X SANCHEZ

Wednesday June 28th | 8PM

TOMORROW

Situated at the intersections of experimental music, free improvisation and performance art, Paula Sanchez’ work is focused on the composition/decomposition and destruction/re-construction of a mutable sound space. With a markedly interdisciplinary profile, she first found her voice as a performer, interpreter and composer in the fields of theater and performance. She stands out for her use of extended techniques and unconventional ways of playing, working with materials like plastic, glass and elements from nature combined with voice and electronics. Hers is the pure presence of an embodied sound which invents its relationships as it makes its way into nothingness.

She will be share the stage by Andrea Tonero, pianist, composer by training (Arts2 - Mons) and electronic autodidact. Passionate about the relationships between musicians during the intimate moment that is the concert, he is in search of the tacit understanding that unites sound universes.

Accustomed to the prepared piano, it is here with his modular synthesizer that he will bring sound to life, either it be tender and meditative, or sharp and ferocious.

XAXI (BE)

"Xaxi is Ernesto Gonzaluz and Clarice Calvo-Pinsolle

Through sample-based, improvised sound collages they cultivate a textured and musical expression of their shared visions.

Weaving melodies mesh with manipulated recorded sounds through miniature scenes that flow into one another organically like a dream sequence."

Multipolar (DE)

"Multipolar is a experimental noise duo based in Leipzig.

Teddy Larue and Marie Kollek improvised betewn, distorted, slow sounds and an impulse of a deep bassline.

The two artists create a live dialogue between their compositions and in contact with the audience. The duo drags the audience into a tunnel of sounds, hypnotic, sometimes tender sometimes loud. Their noises are created through the hyper-materialisation of sound, of overdrives of everyday sounds, the human voice, breathing, machines and effects.

The latest released of multipolar is on UNSE label from Paris.

All best,
Marie Kollec"

Audrey Lauro

http://www.audreylauro.com/index.html

Brussels-based saxophonist Audrey Lauro trained in composition, jazz and contemporary music. She then devoted her energies to experimental music and particularly to improvisation, constantly questioning the language of instrument, phrase and sonic event.

«From phrase to sonic event through all kinds of atoms and particles».

Audrey Lauro started in 2002 a jazz cursus at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussels and contemporary composition cursus at the Conservatoire Royal de Liège. Since then she has spent the last decade developing her music on experimental music scenes in Belgium and abroad. As an alto sax player focusing mostly on free improvised music, she’s also involved in multidisciplinary music projects.

Cordialement »
