How Town, a fine Sunday afternoon

Sunday 12 February 2017 - 5pm

5pm, a Sunday!

Amazing How Town is scheduled for a nice end of week-end.
A Belgian/Latvian ensemble led by composer/bassist Lennart Heyndels.
They combine contemporary popular music with improvisation and influences from experimental music.
Incredible voices and far beyond. Not to be missed.

See You,

Gerard Daval

Forewords

How Town is a Belgian/Latvian ensemble led by composer/bassist Lennart Heyndels. They combine contemporary popular music with improvisation and influences from experimental music. Point of departure is ‘the voice’ and all its different possibilities. How Town came into existence in 2012 when Lennart wrote a suite based on the poem Anyone lived in a pretty how town by E.E. Cummings. In the meantime the group has released two albums and was awarded the Young Music prize at the Theater Aan Zee festival in Oostende (BE). Their goal is to bring accessible music without relinquishing complexity. How Town operates ‘outside of the box’, giving their music the self-invented name contemporary multi-style post-pop music.

"The Violin Duet 2Väinö developed a concert programme creating links between the poetry and the virtuosity of the violin.
Around the Ysaye Sonata for two violins, they joined pieces of Honnegger, Bartok and Bryars and works with young talented composers.
They played many times in France and performed at the Bozar Opening Night 2015, where they had the opportunity to develop a new concept around music with light installation."

Dancing with a sax. A Baritone one.
And a solo by a clarinet Master.

A good way to begin a year, isn't it?

Bobby de Nazareth & Massive Guitars ft. Jacob Warmenbol - Wednesday 21 December - 8pm

Are You sure it's a Christmas Fairytale :
"Bobby, qui, pour rappel, est le fruit du viol ignoble perpétré par le roi mage Balthazar sur la personne de Marie,
Mère de Dieu, se dévoile dans une toute nouvelle aventure,
où il est question de berceau, de clous et de crimes passionnels.
Découvrez comment Bobby participa malencontreusement au déclin de son frère,
quelles arrières pensées animaient Judas et bien d'autres choses! "

We are also proud to welcome Massive Guitars (as its name suggests) feat. Jacob Warmendol and his drums.

Hope to see you,
Gerard Daval
