Belgian jazz legend Bart Maris' new project recruits up-and-coming jazz trio Shibabi as his backing band, forming a mixture of recognized talent in the international jazz world and new blood from the Gent improv scene.

A quartet without an harmonic instrument, much in the tradition of bands such as Ornette Coleman's quartet, but with a personal touch and focus on free improvisation.

With its origins on the Wednesday's free improv jam session curated by Bart at The Hot Club, this new project now aims at taking its music and surprise Belgian and international audiences alike with its improvisation and unexpectedness.

AIDAN BAKER
AIDAN BAKER is a classically-trained multi-instrumentalist focusing on the electric guitar as his primary instrument. Using prepared and alternate methods of playing the guitar, along with various electronic effects, Baker creates music which generally falls within the ambient/experimental genre but draws on influences from post-rock, shoegaze, electronica, neo-classical, and jazz.
A highly prolific artist, BAKER has released numerous recorded works, both solo and with various group projects—most notably his dreamsludge duo, Nadja—and including collaborations with such artists as Tim Hecker, Carla Bozulich, Jussi Lehtisalo (Circle/Pharaoh Overlord), Ekin Fil, FM Einheit, and more—on such independent labels as Karlrecords, Southern Lord Records, Important Records, Alien8 Recordings, and Consouling Sounds. A frequent live performer, BAKER has toured extensively around the world, including appearances at such international festivals as FIMAV, SXSW, Amplifest, Unsound, Roadburn, and Supersonic.
Originally from Toronto, Canada, Baker currently resides in Berlin, Germany.

OTTO LINDHOLM
Brussels-based composer and double bass player, OTTO LINDHOLM specializes in drone music and avant-garde modern classical. Delving into the textures and timbres of his chosen instrument, he produces immersive and introspective music, creating a sense
of hypnotic tension and release. LINDHOLM has released music on various labels, including Icarus Records, Gizeh Records, Houndstooth, Aurora Borealis Recordings, Bedouin Records, Midira Records, 7k!, Totalism...
LINDHOLM's music has also been featured in other media. In 2022, his track "Lehena" opened the film-ballet by Angelo Preljocaj, "Nuit romaine," a co-production of the House of Dior and theTeatro dell'Opera di Roma.
Recently, OTTO LINDHOLM has started a deep collaboration with French visual artist Yannick Jacquet. Based on his 12-piece composition series "Monochromes", they’re creating an installation at the intersection of music, light, and color.

DARKWAVE ROCK POSTPUNK

Groupe issu des cendres de nombreux groupes plus ou moins alternatifs des années 80, 90 et 2000 (Dirty Time, Petit Futur, Amazing Games, Unsaid... entre autres). Factheory représente un compromis réussi entre une darkwave aux mélodies imparables et un rock postpunk aux tendances électro.




Chantant tour à tour en anglais et en français suivant les inspirations harmoniques des chansons, le répertoire de Factheory semble avoir trouvé, après cinq années d’existence, et dans la stabilité de son line-up, une cohérence et une homogénéité, tant dans ses sonorités que dans sa démarche musicale.

En octobre 2021, est sorti son troisième ep 3Sand1D, un quatre titres en CD sur le label indépendant K1L records, label sur lequel était déjà sorti leur premier mini-album Weekend au black studio en 2018 suivi du ep 4 titres Stockholm en 2019.




Résultat fidèle de leur capacité à composer des chansons imparables, le groupe propose cette fois, deux titres en français et deux titres en anglais qui se retrouveront également sur le vinyle dont le vinyl est sorti il y a bientôt 2 ans.

De Désormais, mélange réussi entre dub et électro-pop à Shelter, punk-wave survolté, en passant par le rock entraînant de Subutex ou encore, Souvent, longue mélopée hypnotique et crépusculaire, on s’imprègne de cet univers singulier tout en se laissant emporté par leurs mélodies accrocheuses.


L’année 2023 aura surtout été marquée par la sortie du EP « The Day », qui inclut trois titres remixés par le Stéphane Devillers du groupe bruxellois OK Lion !


Enfin en 2024, Factheory sortira son premier album (entre 12 et 14 titres) laissant à la fois place à des titres aux mélodies imparables mais aussi à des titres plus expérimentaux.


Ce samedi 17 février 2024, 19:00, ce sera l’occasion de découvrir l’album sur la scène du théâtre Haekem.

P-ART remains fascinated by intuitive interventions with percussive sound objects: Chinese cymbals, Capiz shells, wind chimes, antique blue glass, PET bottles etc. Acoustic art with organic sound objects.

In analog heaven

This impro concert starts with a sound journey by P-ART who brings his sound creations to life on his vintage analog synthesizer Ensoniq ESQ1. The sound patches excel in color, dynamism and unexpected variation in the sound process. 

Sound sculptor P-ART creates heavenly soundscapes of unpredictable waveforms and microtonal worlds. He breaks the standard distance between the keys (= 12 equal semitone steps per octave) by modulating the analog oscillators. For example: The flexible sound patch N2KICK based on a double NOISE2 wave and a KICK waveform makes the chromatic tuning scale insanely in the higher area of the keyboard (dynamic microtonality).

Paul A.R. Timmermans (P-ART), Belgian composer, all-round musician and multimedia artist, is a versatile and talented artist who continues to push the boundaries of conventional music. His work is sure to appeal to anyone with an interest in experimental and innovative music and art.

His first Meta LP (1983) is a unique and innovative collector’s item that showcases P-ART’s experimental approach to music. The album features a mix of electronic, classical, and experimental jazz influences, using electronic sounds and sound objects to create unique soundscapes.

Whether he plays the piano, balafon, sound objects or synthesizer, the P-ART approach to his musical creation remains the same: “For me, an intuitive composition is an organic process in which the music is thrown into my lap, as it were. Spontaneously without a written plan. Only then the path will open itself in an authentic way to me, the instant composer. Whether a real composition is developing or not, it cannot be predicted or conducted by myself. It happens. I take the same approach while creating multitrack recordings track by track: meta polyphony.”

MIKE KRAMER / Core Shift (AU/NL)


Sound artist and field recordist Mike Kramer creates electronic music with field recordings and spatial interaction as an important ingredient. With his solo work he invites the listener to get to know his/her environment (better). This is often accompanied by an intense physical experience of the sounds presented. In addition, Mike also produces more musical work that is reflected in projects such as Core Shift and CS², where more emphasis is placed on Ambient/Techno and Noise.

During his performance at Haekem, Mike presents new solo work, followed by compositions from his latest Core Shift EP 'Enlightment'.

Mike Kramer created various sound walks, a radio play and numerous sound installations, which were exhibited in cities such as Maastricht, Heerlen, Tilburg, Hasselt and Aachen. On commission he wrote more than 20 compositions. His work has also been released on CD and DVD under various monikers. In addition to his artistic outlets, Mike has his own company Sonic Waves, is the initiator and artistic director of sound art platform (h)ear - experimental audio research, and he makes programs and live recordings for Concertzender Nederland, Rewire, Le Guess Who?, Meakusma, Jazzblazzt and (h)ear.

" Tweaken is about bringing together passion and energy in a musical journey that unifies individual tastes and personalities, but most of all people together.

But, who are we? we are two electronic/progressive house producers from Belgium, a rich country often considered as one of the cradles of techno music. For example, Belgium has left a great imprint on the electronic world by giving birth to new beat, a style consisting of slowing down the BPM to give a more primitive side to the dance.

The driving force behind our duo is passion, dedication and constant improvement in music production. We are strong advocates of the original artistic approach, and therefore dedicate ourselves exclusively to composing our own music. We then share our musical universe exclusively during live performances, each time adapted to the club and festival stages, and especially to the desires of our audiences.

In the course of time, we have been able to assert our style and present ourselves alongside renowned artists such as Ken Ishii or Vitalic, in renowned clubs such as Rockerill, Zodiak, La Rocca or Palais 12.

As a next step, we would now like to perform at major festivals such as Tomorrowland – Festival.

In brief, we are two complementary minds who want to bring a fresh, heavy and melodious look to our Belgian origins trough modern compositions, live performances and visual shows. Putting a progressive touch in every of ou show. Likewise, we focus on delivering a brilliant and colorful music journey to purists and fans to escape life for one night.

Suura is an instrumental band that floats in the elasticity between fluctuating spaces and granular outlooks.

Bringing forth layered structures in which the observer indulges itself in profound, lush, endlessness meandering streams. 
Think of ambient folk, drone, texture and sound improvisation.

They will present work from their latest album 'Stuve' but also new work.
